Augustine, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Prague, Prague
About the Hotel
Augustine, A Luxury Collection Hotel, Prague intertwines a rich history with modern luxury. Situated within a former Augustinian monastery from the 13th century, the hotel is still home to four monks. The property showcases peace and tranquility in the Sundial Garden, despite its central location in Prague's vibrant Lesser Town district.
Location
Conveniently located in the heart of Prague, Augustine sits beneath Prague Castle and is just steps from Charles Bridge. The hotel is housed in seven historic buildings, preserving the charm of the original monastery. Guests can easily access public transportation and nearby attractions, including the Rudolfinum and Wenceslas Square, allowing for effortless exploration of the city's medieval heritage.
Rooms
Augustine offers 101 uniquely furnished rooms and suites, fashioned from the original monk's cells, ensuring no two accommodations are alike. Among these, the signature suites are highlighted by one featuring original fresco walls and a three-floor suite in a former astronomical tower with a 360° view. The design incorporates elements of Czech Cubism along with historical features such as vaulted ceilings and wooden beams. Spacious marble bathrooms with heated floors add to the luxurious experience for guests.
Eat & Drink
The Augustine Restaurant is an open-plan space with a glass roof, serving European cuisine enriched by herbs from the hotel’s garden. The Refectory, located in a historic barrel-vaulted hall, offers seasonal cocktails and St. Thomas Beer alongside light snacks. Guests can also explore the St. Thomas Brewery Bar, the only bar globally serving the beer first brewed by monks in 1352, paired with Czech-style tapas. Private dining experiences are available, complete with exceptional tasting menus and live music.
Leisure & Business
The hotel features the Augustine Spa, offering a range of wellness treatments along with a fitness center open 24/7. For business needs, the property includes special event spaces, including the historic venues of the former monastery. Guests can participate in curated tours, uncovering the hidden treasures of the hotel and its adjacent monastery, while concierge services offer personalized recommendations for exploring Prague.

Reviews and Ratings
I had an amazing stay at the hotel. The rooms were elegant and had plenty of room to spread out after a couple of full days of touring. They were soundproof, clean, and modern, with the most comfortable beds I have slept in away from home. The location was superb, just a few minutes walk from the Charles Bridge and the Castle but off the tourist track. The service was impeccable, particularly from the Concierge who arranged a lovely concert and restaurant for us at short notice. However, the dining experience was a bit hit or miss with some items not fresh and prices slightly higher than the average in Prague.
I was thrilled with the hotel's prime location, just steps away from historic sites and the vibrant city life. The rooms were impeccably modern and clean, fit for royalty, with that touch of character that made my stay unforgettable. However, there were some noise issues that disrupted the tranquility of the ambience.
I had an incredible stay at this hotel! The rooms, although a bit small, were quiet and offered a stunning view of the castle. The service was exceptional, with attentive staff going above and beyond to make my experience memorable. The location was perfect, allowing me to easily explore all the sights of Prague. The dining experience was magnificent, and the facilities were top-notch, making for a truly luxurious stay.
I was delighted with my stay at the hotel. The rooms were perfect, incredibly comfortable, and the bathroom was excellent with all the extra touches you could want, from bathrobes to toiletries. After a cramped riverboat cruise on the Danube, the spacious room felt like a luxury. The only drawback was being close to the train tracks at the front of the hotel.
The hotel offers superb rooms, wonderful food and drink, and a lovely location close to major attractions. The rooms are modern, nicely furnished, and quite comfortable. The only downside is that they can be a bit dark, but overall, the stay was lovely with a beautiful bathroom. The dining experience was excellent, although it may lean towards the expensive side. Service was top-notch, going above and beyond to make the stay pleasant, from reception to concierge to housekeeping. The location is excellent, near key landmarks yet away from the tourist crowds. Overall, a delightful stay with great amenities.
The hotel was amazing with incredibly spacious rooms offering two closets in the entryway, perfect for storing belongings. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, ensuring a superb experience overall. The location was ideal, steps away from the Charles Bridge and within walking distance of Prague's main attractions. The dining experience was sumptuous, offering a delightful blend of American and European foods. The facilities were top-notch, providing a luxurious and convenient stay.
